Yearly raw-style editions by changing fabric rather than form

Artist and writer Martin Wærn went on a quest for clothes from a minimalist perspective. The mission was to find something resembling a civilian uniform in a raw and robust style. It had to be timeless, durable, and, at the same time, dressed.

- He found none, so he created his own.

The idea is simple: Create a primary clothing line in a fixed cut and design. Then, never change its form, only the fabric, and you’ll get an edition-based clothing line built with notable quality and durability from design to production.

How: Following a fixed pattern using quality dead-stock fabric that evolves into a catalog of limited annual (or seasonal models), creating a sharp contrast to fashion trends. In addition, a small-scale production could easily be manually numbered and signed, adding another layer to creating a unique model.

Why: A collection with a repeated design, sold in limited editions based on fabric availability, will create a new and unique long-term approach to fashion. Furthermore, a shifting annual or seasonal edition has every opportunity to grow into collector items for the dedicated and reoccurring buyer.

The environmental perspective is evident. Partly in the use of dead stock but also in the production as a whole, a durable and timeless design made of robust material creates clothes that last.

Design: The collection is timeless and unisex. Depending on the fabric choice, it's a garment for both summer and winter.

Your art is your souls fingerprint. It’s unique, simply by being a part of your essence. Never change that. It’s your only chance to make something special.
